Citing your sources

Different disciplines use different citation styles to cite sources (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.). Check your course syllabus or speak with your instructor if you're unsure which citation style to use.

APA: social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, nursing, communications, education, business, engineering, and other fields

MLA: language arts, cultural studies, and other humanities disciplines

Chicago: literature, history, and the arts

If you know which style to use, you can find out more on how to cite using our Citation Styles guide!
