Students (and employees of Clemson) are never considered visitors, and while students can park in regular metered spaces with a permit if they pay the meter (meters must be paid between 7 am and 10 pm, 7 days/week), students cannot park at visitor meters during the day (even if they pay the meters). Students can only park at visitor parking meters between 9 pm and 7 am IF they also have a valid permit.
If a student is a commuter and needs to come to the library only a few times, they can purchase scratch-offs [Commuter Temporary Permit/ Commuter Temporary Permit (non-refundable)] in the parking office for $4 each. They can buy 1, 5, or 10 at a time and just scratch off the date they’re using it and hang it in their rearview mirror. They can also purchase a single day permit online on the parking office website, https://www.clemson.edu/campus-life/parking/index.html. The parking office also has daily permits for residents that are scratched off for use when they’re purchased.
