Children and Young Adult Collections

The University Libraries Children’s/Young Adult collection is located at the Education Media Center (212 Tillman Hall). All materials are searchable in the Library Catalog.

These items support ongoing courses in both the Department of English and the College of Education as well as casual reading by patrons of all ages.  New materials are added each year and we welcome suggestions via our Purchase Request form.

The collection is divided into two sections. The Young Adult section is generally aimed at readers from ages 12 to 18. The Juvenile collection is oriented toward pre-kindergarten readers to about age 12. Some collections and authors may span both areas.

All of these material may be requested for pick up at any library location and you can always return any item to any location. The Education Media Center is open to all library patrons. Upon arrival if you need building access please call our EMC Service Desk at 864-656-3741.
