What happens if I return an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) book late, damage, or lose it?

Answer

There will be $1.00 a day fine for overdue ILL items. Anyone (faculty, staff, or students) who does not return an overdue item within seven days will have library privileges blocked.

If you lose or damage a book, you will be charged for the lost/damaged book plus the processing fees charged by the lending library.

In order to maintain good relationships with our lending libraries, we have to return their items on time and in good condition. Overdue returns and lost items jeopardize Clemson University's ability to borrow from other colleges and universities, creating barriers to research.

NOTE: If Interlibrary Loan items are consistently returned late or damaged borrowing privileges may be suspended or severely limited for Clemson University library users.
