Answer

Due to the significant flooding over the holiday break in Cooper Library, collections on the 4th, 3rd, and 1st floors were damaged

Out of our collection of over 800,000 print titles, an estimated 2,000 books were affected, primarily in the areas of:

  • American literature (1st floor)
  • Children’s and young adult literature (3rd floor)
  • the Popular Reading collection (4th floor)

Clemson Libraries personnel are working with insurance and book vendors to make sure that any materials affected are identified for replacement by the end of the Spring 2023 semester.
