If I'm not a student, can I still use the library?
Answer
Community Access
Clemson Libraries offers various services for community members, and visitors are welcome to enter Cooper Library. All building on campus are card access, meaning patrons have to scan in with their Clemson ID to enter. Visitors can call the security desk for entry at (864)656-6194 and then sign in with security.
Community Borrower Card
South Carolina residents are eligible for a community borrower card. This card will provide you entry into Cooper Library, and also serve as your library card. To be eligible for a card, the person must be at least 16 years of age and have identification. Out-of-state visitors are required to sign in to the library to enter the building or be part of a campus tour. To get a card for the first time, visit Cooper Library and sign in as a visitor at the Security Services Desk. Head to the Library Services Desk directly behind the Security Desk to apply for and obtain a card. You will need to have your SC Driver's License.
Extending our Services
Clemson University graduates still residing in South Carolina are also eligible for the free community borrower card. University employee family members over 16 years old who live at the same residence as the employee, South Carolina public school teachers, and members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) can also receive a free library card.
